Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends soul gospel jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs the singer has done work everywhere. Sunshine's the name of Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta currently, she is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician, singing and playing in the church in town. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was called Stalk You A house 12 released exclusively in Japan It has since been remixed by numerous producers and is an essential part of her live set. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. She was named the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls, the theatre production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to sing as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
