Her work has received praise for her outstanding performance in the American television series Law & Order in which she was awe-inspiring to the viewers for three seasons, playing the an attorney Claire Kincaid, and Crossing Jordan for six seasons where she portrayed the main character Jordan Cavanaugh. Hennessy has also showcased her acting skills in movies like RoboCop 3 Most Wanted and the independently produced films Chutney Popcorn and The Acting Class and The Acting Class, in which she played co-directing and writing muscles. Hennessy started her acting career in 1988along with her sister as twin call girls in Dead Ringers. The actress starred performing on Broadway for the Broadway musical Buddy The Buddy Holly Story in 1990. The Buddy Holly Story in 1990 and stepped into the sci-fi world in 1993 playing Doctor. Marie Lazarus in RoboCop 3. Later that same year she became the assistant prosecutor Claire Kincaid in the hit NBC Crime Drama Law & Order.
