Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known her real name as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author and editors. Ryder's father comes from an ethnically Jewish family Ryder feels she's Jewish. There are two younger half siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The town didn't even have electricity. Ryder became an avid books reader since there was no TV. Ryder started taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12 years old. When she was in 1986, she had her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas aged just 15 years old. Ryder was a victim of bullying in high school. Her hope was that she would be able to alter her life. However, it didn't come to pass. She continued to pursue her dreams. Her breakthrough came with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder kept playing successful roles in a variety of films. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
